Exeter Camping /Glamping

Everyone is welcome to come and experience Kushti Vardos family camping site.

Please note:

Each accommodation has authentic Romany Gypsy heritage and was once used as someones home. Extra care will need to be taken if you choose to stay with us to help maintain the condition of each wagon/ roma for future use and preservation. Well behaved children and kind consideration towards our wagons is appreciated.

Many thanks, Kushti Vardos.

Kushti Vardos Romany Gypsy Heritage Site is located on the outskirts of Exeter amongst the rolling hills of the Devon countryside.

Each Vardo and Caravan has been hand built and previously lived and owned by a Romany Gypsy to ensure your experience is as authentic as possible.

Every wagon has its own fire-pit, 12v cigarette lighter socket and twin USB phone charging sockets and free WiFi.

Drinking water and outside fire-pits with cast iron cooking pots and gas cookers in the Roma Caravans

Each Roma Caravan has limited power 240v sockets with gas cooker or oven and hob There are toilet and shower buildings on-site. Seating areas are provided to enjoy refreshments, picturesque views of the countryside and the local wildlife.

Traditional Gypsy Wagons and Roma Caravans

Our Gypsy Vardos and Roma caravans are situated on a picturesque Devon hillside.

Children are welcome, younger ones can sleep in the wagon with you in the traditional manner, cosily tucked up under the main bed.  On the road older ones would have been under the wagon, or you can rent Puttchi Tan; the extra bedroom wagon (when available). Each pitch has enough room to ‘bring-your-own’ small tent for older kids, alternatively choose one of the luxury Roma Caravans for an even larger pitch on site.

“Kushti Vardos is by far the loveliest place I’ve ever stayed! It is so special, the quiet surroundings, the fields and woods, with deer coming out in the twilight or at dawn, the horses grazing peacefully just behind the fences until they’ve had enough and wander off. And above all: those incredibly beautiful wagons!!
Owners Clarence and Sarah are so friendly and helpful, it was a great joy meeting them….”
